I asked Tucker Poolman about the bubble's roster of soft foods.
"I came back last night and the staff here had some sympathy so they offered some smoothies. I had a couple of those last night, had one today. Mixed in some eggs and some oatmeal today so it's been good." pic.twitter.com/gTcEt3J3Me
Worrying about the playoffs is skipping A, B, & C to get to D. Coaches are just trying to pull off one day of practice & meetings, let alone get ready for a game in 3-4 weeks or worry about a schedule. The day-to-day issues are the major problem, not the big picture.
There are multiple MVFC schools that have pushed back their start dates due to quarantine issues. How can they play a game without adequate practice time to get in game shape? Is this type of stuff gonna go on all fall?
If a player tests positive, he AND all his roommates (plus any others ID'd through contact tracing) need to quarantine for 14 days. The cost of testing is enormous. There are FBS schools that legit cannot afford the testing and are getting no help from their state.
Been doing some sniffing around the country with coaches & sources at FB programs - it's not looking good folks. The requirements for the way this is to be handled are quite literally impossible to meet. I will expand later but I am sadly skeptical of a 2020 fall season.
Nick Schmaltz will miss his third straight game when the Coyotes face the Predators in pivotal Game 3 of their qualifying round series today. As noted in my story yesterday, Darcy Kuemper is in goal, Adin Hill will back up, Antti Raanta is unfit to play.
Lots of stuff in today's NHL playoff roundup: Tucker Poolman and Derek Forbort both take pucks to the face in same game, same spot; Brock Boeser scores first-career playoff goal vs. Wild; Rocco Grimaldi gets an assist; comments from Paul Maurice and Boeser https://t.co/ZYhD0fyFUw
The American Athletic Conference has formally approved a football scheduling model w/ 8 conference games + up to 4 nonconference games (however many noncon games each school wants to play), source confirms to @TheAthleticCFB. SI had it first.
